Dr. Delron & Peggy Shirley
Teach All Nations Mission (TAN) is a global evangelical educational ministry birthed from the teaching ministries of Delron and Peggy Shirley. The name Teach All Nations Mission was chosen to carefully indicate exactly what the heart of Delron and Peggy’s mission is.
TAN’s commitment is to establish a solid foundation in the national pastors and leaders so that they can help enrich the people. The vision is Christian teaching materials (in English and the local languages) in printed form and on audio and video, providing scholarships to Christian colleges and Bible schools for promising students, assisting in establishing and building of Bible schools, and broadcasting via the internet, radio, and television.
“For the past several years, kidnappings of foreigners, cartel violence, and COVID had put a stop to our ministry with our dear friends Bobby and Lynn Crow who pastor in Ciudad Victoria, Mexico; however, this year, we were able to return for four days of intensive ministry in their church and Bible college – and what a time it was. The ministry began on Saturday with a ladies’ breakfast in which Peggy ministered on “My Help Comes from the Lord,” a topic that many of the women testified ministered directly to their situations. That afternoon, Delron taught a three-hour version of his course on Maximum Impact at the Bible college. Speaking of impact, one of the workers at the Bible college shared a photo that her daughter who is serving as a missionary in a North African Muslim-majority country sent to her of Delron teaching when she was a student at Charis Bible College twelve years ago. The lady said that Delron and Peggy were her favorite teachers during the three years of study there. For both of these events, Teach All Nations provided a supply of textbooks in Spanish. Unfortunately, the airline lost the suitcase containing the books, and it was not retrieved until the end of the trip. However, the college students will receive their free copies at their upcoming graduation, and the ladies will be presented with their books at the next women’s gathering.
On Sunday, Delron preached a message about what God saw when He looked into the heart of David, based on the two stories found in I Samuel chapters sixteen and seventeen – one about how God told Samuel that He looked for inner qualities rather than external appearance and the other about David’s confrontation with Goliath. The theme of the message was that David’s inner qualities were revealed in the way he stood up to the giant – an encouragement to the congregation on how to face their own personal “giants.”
One of Paul’s impactful ministries occurred in the city of Philippi – the first city that he visited in Europe. His initial visit may have been as short as just a couple weeks in that the account in Acts chapter sixteen says that he was there over one sabbath (verse 13) and then continued for many days before being arrested and thrown into jail (verse 18). Later, Paul returned to the same region for three months, but it is unclear as to how much of this time was spent in the city of Philippi. (Acts 20:1-6) Therefore, it is possible that the ministry he established in Philippi could have been the result of just a few days of ministry or the result of three months of investment. Even if he did spend the whole of this second period ministering in Philippi, it is still an incredible accomplishment to birth a viable congregation in such a short time. Certainly, the quality of the testimony that he planted in the city during his arrest and imprisonment in the city left a lasting impression that produced maximum impact. The story of Paul’s prison stay in the Philippian penitentiary is recorded in Acts chapter sixteen. Notice how each step is characterized with a word starting with “P.”
And when they had laid many stripes upon them, they cast them into prison, charging the jailor to keep them safely: Who, having received such a charge, thrust them into the inner prison, and made their feet fast in the stocks. (Verses 23-24)
