“Sawadeka,” the traditional Thai welcome rang out from all the ladies as they greeted Linda Easton and me each day during our mission to their nation. We had traveled to Southeast Asia at the request of Dr. Buachab Ronghanam, the national director for Every Home for Christ in Thailand. Our mission was to host women’s conferences for the leadership in her region.
Our first stop was in Chang Mai, center for much of the Christian ministry that goes on in the nation of Thailand. By ministering to the key leaders there, we were actually able to impact the entire nation as the women from the ministries based in the city would take the message to other parts of the country through their various ministries. Since these key leaders were hungry to be taught more about how women can become increasingly fruitful in the ministry, we had arranged to not only minister to them in the conference, but to also provide a free copy of my book Women for the Harvest in their Thai language to each participant. Day after day, we poured into them, teaching topics about the women in the Bible who were great evangelists and the anointing and need for the baptism in the Holy Spirit and many more. They were all open, and, at each altar call, the Holy Spirit moved on each of them.
Next on our itinerary was the city of Udon where we met with the Christian leaders who came from the nations of Laos, Cambodia, and Viet Nam as well as from the local vicinity in that part of Thailand. God really rewarded everyone’s sacrifice of coming to the meetings, whether it was from near or far. Through the operation of the spiritual gift of the word of knowledge, at least four ladies were instantaneously healed of breast tumors and many others received miraculous healings. When I taught them that Jesus wants to heal them not only physically, but also emotionally, they all came up for prayer. These Asian women (who usually would not cry or show emotion in public) were all slain in the Spirit and lay crying on the floor as the presence of the Holy Spirit was so strong. It was awesome to see that our Jesus is alive and truly a God of compassion!
So many people around the world are perishing for lack of knowledge, but I believe that God is going to use these women we taught and ministered to help save and teach many of the lost souls in Thailand.
Truly the women of Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, and Viet Nam were not only greeting Linda and me with their, “Sawadeka”; they were actually crying out, “Sawadeka” – “Welcome, Holy Spirit.”
